Jag har tidigare bloggat och undrat om Google AdSense betalar sämre 2009?

Jag ställer mig fortfarande den frågan, eftersom mina egna siffror inte ser lika bra ut som under 2008. Jag har lägre intäkter med Google AdSense 2009.

Nu läser jag på Search Engine Roundtable att jag är långt ifrån ensam om att konstatera detta. Många Google AdWords-annonsörer skär ned budgeten på grund av minskad försäljning.

Google AdSense-publicister kan svara på en undersökning om intäkterna har sjunikt de senaste veckorna och resultatet i skrivande stund redovisas nedan.

Häromdagen trollade Google bort Nya Zeeland från kartan i Google Maps. Tydligen berodde det på den mänskliga faktorn och Mike CH på Google bekräftar detta på Google Maps Help:

Matt Cutts, ansvarig för Google Webspam team, ber om förslag på hur Google kan bli bättre på att leverera bra sökresultat under 2009.

Nu har det gått några dagar på 2009 och jag undrar om Google AdSense betalar sämre för annonserna som visas på bloggen?

Jag är ett statistik-freak och kollar dagligen olika källor för att se hur besökarantalet förändras. Eftersom jag finansierar bland annat webbhotell och domännamn genom annonser, så vill jag att annonsintäkterna ska gå hand i hand med besökarantalet.

Dock har jag lagt märke till att Google AdSense inte har betalat lika bra under 2009. Bloggen har samma besökarantal och CTR’en (click through raten) är den samma som vanligt. Däremot är CPM’en (cost-per-thousand impression) betydligt lägre.

Jag vet inte om det möjligtvis är så att annonsörerna betalar mindre under en period nu efter nyår, med tanke på att folk är mindre köpbenägna pga tomma plånböcker. Eller om bloggen numera visar “billigare” annonser utifrån att innehållet har ändrats (vilket det inte har)?

Google har nu kommit med tips till bloggare som vill få ut det mesta av sin blogg. Det är egentligen inget nytt under solen, utan ganska självskrivna saker som du bör tänka på i ditt bloggande.
