Wordpress 2.6 Sorry, no posts matched your criteria

I updated this wordpress blog from 2.5 to 2.6 yesterday.

The neat new features they’ve added to the new version looked appealing. Especially the Drag-and-drop shortcut link to place in the bookmarks bar, with which one can easily add images and quotes to new posts.

However, when finished, I discovered that my posts were no longer accessible. All I got was “Sorry, no posts matched your criteria“. Realizing something had gone wrong, I frantically started to look for a solution. I deactivated plugins, checked, double-checked and rechecked all files, but no luck.

Finally, turning to the net for an answer, Googling “Wordpress 2.6 Sorry, no posts matched your criteria” I found this page which led me to FIX: 2.6 Permalink issues with “index.php”.

Apparently there is a bug in the new version of Wordpress, causing problems when updating from a previous version. Following the three simple steps should solve the issue and the upcoming release of WordPress 2.6.1 will correct this issue.

Step 2 did it for me and I no longer suffer from the “Sorry, no posts matched your criteria” problem with Wordpress 2.6.
